We will be based in beautiful Lauvsnes in Flatanger Komune, in the Nord Trondelag region of beautiful Norway.

With expert guides Andy Astbury and Ole Martin Dahle you are going to witness and photograph the finest White-tailed Eagle action that you can get anywhere on the planet.

And that, as they say, is a promise!

Photography sessions all take place from our purpose-built boat in and around the spectacular cliffs that surround the renowned and fjord-studded Flatanger coastline.

We will have 2 sessions per day, one in the early morning, a four hour session ending at around 10am, and one in the evening which will commence around 6pm.

The morning sessions provide superb photographic opportunities to obtain some fantastic back-lit and low key images of eagles taking fish against a dark water background, and Andy will be on hand to help you with the correct exposure settings and techniques to pull these wonderful shots off.

The morning sessions also give you the opportunity to make great 'photographic art' using slow shutter techniques.

The evening sessions are always fast-paced action with as many as 8 eagles in the air at the same time just above your head - the flight shot opportunities are seemingly endless.

Also, the evening sessions provide us with a wonderful, near-midnight sun backdrop where you can easily be shooting beyond 10pm.

It's fare to say that spending these sessions swinging a 300mm, 400mm or 200-400 zoom will result in a complete full upper body workout!

And throughout the sessions we will be visited by the most technically challenging bird to photograph - the Arctic Skua.

No words can prepare you for your first photographic encounter with an Arctic Skua - their speed and agility is unparalleled and most people who attempt this just end up with hundreds of frames containing, at best, out-of-focus tails, but more often, just empty blue sky!

But with technique tuition on-hand you are sure to come away with some spectacular images.

One attendee from the 2011 workshop made just over £1300 selling a sequence of images captured on an evening session to the Norwegian press, and another has made print sales in excess of £3k.

This workshop is one not to be missed.

The cost of this workshop tour (19000NKR~£2100 as of 30/11/2011) is inclusive of airport transfers between Trondheim and Lauvsnes, boat and guide fees but does NOT include flights or food.(the average food bill for the 2011 trip was under £180 per head).

"Even with a couple of days of so-so weather - as promised - Andy's Sea Eagle trip produced sensational images. With up to twenty dives a day, there was ample opportunity to shoot all phases of the eagles' fishing strategies - plus arctic skuas and gulls a plenty. If these magnificent birds are on your list - then this is the trip for you.".......Dr, Geoff Einon ARPS geoff.einon@gmail.com

Hi Andy,

Just a few words about the Norway Trip 2011

First of all I would like to thank you for another successful trip.

I really enjoyed the Sea Eagle photography and as you know I managed to bag some very great shots, needless to say, only after you had put me on the right track with the camera settings.
I was amazed at the speed of the Eagles and how close to the boat they came. The number of birds that Ole managed to call in to the boat was also amazing, I certainly needed a rest from swinging the camera and lens around between each session. It was almost worth going for the boat trips around the fjords, and I certainly enjoyed the added bonus of catching a few fish whilst waiting for the next Eagle.
The accommodation was spot on (again) and the food at the local restaurant (Zanzibar) was great.
Al too soon the week was over, could have done with 2.

Thanks again
